A Breast Lift Is Next-Level Body Contouring
Maturity is a gift. We change, we evolve, and we gain valuable insight along the way. But age brings with it certain eventualities, and the loss of tone and definition is one of the unfortunate byproducts of maturation.
Over the years, breasts can lose their shape and firmness due to pregnancy, nursing, weight fluctuation and loss of skin elasticity, causing them to sag. A breast lift will raise and reshape breasts, slowing the effects of aging and gravity. This procedure can also reduce the size of the areola (the darker skin surrounding the nipple) if the patient so desires.

Breast Lift
-
Also known as mastopexy, a breast lift is a surgery that reorients the breasts to their optimal position. To accomplish this result, our plastic surgeons remove excess fat and skin to address sagging. The remaining tissue is resituated to reflect a taut, toned appearance.
-
Weight loss, breast feeding or just pure genetics can cause the breasts to be deflated and droopy. This may cause women to wear bras all the time, and gives the appearance of a long distance between the neck and breasts. The dimensions and position of the breasts may reveal signs of aging, but a breast lift can restore a woman’s youth and vigor.

The breast lift is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries among our Orange County clientele. Mastopexy is especially attractive for mommies after they are done growing their families and wish to regain their pre-pregnancy form.
-
A breast lift does not increase the fullness of the upper portion of the breast; it simply allows the removal of sagging breast tissue while repositioning the nipple. For these reasons, breast lifts are commonly performed in conjunction with breast augmentation (implants) to increase the fullness and improve the shape of the breasts. Benefits of Breast Enhancement
In addition to making you look your best, a breast lift can help you feel amazing. Sagging features can pull at your skin and cause discomfort. By contouring breasts to your specifications and desires, you can move, stretch, and relax into your own contours with ease.

Eligible Candidates
Women who wish to empower their cosmetic destiny are ideal candidates for a breast lift. The mastopexy procedure can address mild to pronounced ptosis (sagging), so Esthetica will contour the procedure to each patient’s needs and desires.
If you are planning a future pregnancy, it is advisable to postpone your breast lift as pregnancy will likely cause further stretching and drooping to the breasts. The attentive Esthetica team can determine your candidacy for a breast lift during your individual consultation.
Preparation
During your comprehensive consultation, you will receive detailed instructions to prepare you for surgery. Your directions will be tailored to your case, so please follow them closely. In general, it is advisable to quit smoking and stop taking certain medications that may thin the blood. Esthetica encourages you to achieve optimal circulation in the weeks leading up to any cosmetic procedure.
Procedure
The exact parameters of your breast lift are designed around your anatomy.[2] Mild sagging requires a different approach than more extensive ptosis, so Bella Plus Turkey is well-versed in the various types of breast lift procedures you may need.
Donut Mastopexy
For a subtle lift, consider the benefits of a “donut” incision. The surgeon gently maneuvers around the edges of the areola, concealing all incisions and contouring the breast to achieve perkiness and shapeliness.
Vertical Incision
If a more dramatic lift is required, the surgeon will extend the incision from the nipple downward. This allows your doctor to remove excess skin and adjoin the remaining tissue along the lower part of the breast.
Anchor Technique
For even more pronounced instances of sagging, the surgeon can create horizontal incisions along the crease beneath the breast. All incisions are then skillfully brought together, providing harmony to the chest.
Regardless of which incision strategy a patient requires, the breast tissue is recontoured and some breast tissue and skin is removed. The nipple and areola are then repositioned. The skin is closed with dissolvable sutures.
Recovery
After surgery, your stitches will be covered with tape and a surgical bra will hold the breasts in place. Drains are not usually needed for this operation. The mild pain is generally well controlled with oral pain medication. In the recovery stage, it is important to wear the provided surgical bra at all times.
As with any surgery, there are possible complications. Smokers are much more prone to delayed healing, wound breakdown, and the possible loss of skin at the nipple and areola.
Because some milk ducts are disrupted during the operation, you may not be able to breastfeed following the surgery. Some women successfully breastfeed after having a breast lift, but you should discuss your concerns with a doctor before your procedure. For best results, follow your physician’s advice both before and after surgery.
After one week, the tape will be removed. The stitches are positioned under the skin and they are dissolvable. You can return to most of your physical activities in three to six weeks.
